Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering is expanding so we invite you to join our mission in accelerating the battery market! In order to sustain our rapid growth and scale our operations to the next level, we are looking for a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the commercial business by providing advice on a variety of legal and compliance-related matters.
• Practice areas will include a wide range of corporate commercial matters, with a primary focus on commercial contracts, intellectual property, data protection, and general corporate compliance matters.
• Responsible for negotiating, drafting and revising a wide range of commercial agreements with partners, clients, and contractors as well as leading the negotiations towards EU projects regarding Grant Agreements, Consortium Agreements, and legal discussions with EC
• You will lead the negotiations towards EU projects regarding Grant Agreements, Consortium Agreements, and legal discussions with EC.
• You will support data management plans of projects and intellectual property rights.

Experience and qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Law, Commercial Law or Corporate Law or relevant field;
• Previous experience as an in-house legal counsel or similar role for at least 3 years
• Dynamic person that can take the lead in the follow-up and decision process
• Result-oriented person who can look beyond the legal context and understand the company’s interests.
• Open-minded person who values building relationships with your colleagues and clients
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues and aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, a French and/or Dutch is a plus
• Comfortable with some business travel
