Atomistic Modeling Researcher

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate should have good working experience/knowledge in electrochemical modeling of lithium-ion batteries and next-generation energy storage technologies.

Qualifications Required And Experience:

• MS or Ph.D. degree in material science, chemical engineering, electrochemical engineering.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Lithium-ion batteries.
• Strong technical background in Electrochemistry and Cell/Battery development.

Skills Requirements:

• Experience with electrochemical modeling of lithium-ion batteries and next-generation energy storage technologies (Solid-State battery preferably)
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficient with MATLAB/Simulink software suite
• Experience with COMSOL, Battery Design Studio, Ansys/Fluent, or other software tools for modeling lithium-ion batteries
• Able to prioritize and manage time effectively and should have strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design experiments to determine cell level mechanical and other physical properties or estimate the parameters
• Model power and energy of cells with a variety of electrode designs and materials
• Acquire, process, and analyse experimental data to determine battery cell electrochemical performance and thermal behavior
• Assist in the development of equivalent circuit models for lithium-ion cells and battery packs and use them to simulate a variety of operating conditions
• Assist in the development and simulation of electrochemical models of lithium-ion cells and electrodes to better understand the physical and electrochemical phenomenon
• Process experimental data for the development and upscaling of coin cells to monolayer and multi-layer pouch cells.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and present them to technical managers.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Lithium-Ion Battery Researcher

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate should have good working experience/knowledge in Advanced Lithium-Ion Batteries to fabricate the pouch cells (includes Gen3b with high voltage or gel polymer electrolyte moving towards Solid-State electrolytes). The scope also includes the capability to scale-up the concept to production scale. This position requires more than 70% work in lab activities.

Qualifications Required and experience:

  • MS or PhD degree in material science, chemical engineering, electrochemical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Industrial experience in Lithium-ion batteries.
  • Strong technical background in Electrochemistry and Cell/Battery development.

Skills requirements:

  • Hands on experience to fabricate and characterize lithium-ion batteries pouch cells in lab scale (500mAh- 2Ah) and pilot scale (10-30Ah).
  • Fundamental knowledge to scale-up the lab scale concept to production scale.
  • Strong knowledge of Advance lithium-ion batteries technology especially in generation 3b technology, slurry formulation, electrode preparation and cell design.
  • Strong understanding about electrochemistry; electrochemical techniques such as CV, LSV, EIS, GITT, PITT etc.
  • Experience the material characterization techniques such as SEM, XRD, XPS, AFM etc.
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively and should have strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Act as a bridge between lab manager and experts to improve the understanding of failure modes, performance, and life expectancy of battery, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance for business and research teams with diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement lithium-ion batteries electrode making and cell assembly processes to meet performance targets.
  • Identify and validate materials for cell components such as electrode substrates, active materials, Binders, conductive additives, and separators for solid state battery application.
  • Prepare high quality technical reports and present to the upper management
  • Technology and product transfer to pilot manufacturing.

All Solid-State Battery Researcher

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate should have good working experience/knowledge in All Solid-State Batteries to fabricate the ASSB pouch cells. The scope also includes on various solid-state electrolytes, inorganic/organic/hybrid solutions to protect lithium foils and has the capability to scale-up the concept to production scale. This position expects the candidate to work 70% of the time in lab environment.

Qualifications Required and experience:

  • MS or PhD degree in material science, chemical engineering, electrochemical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Industrial experience in Lithium-ion batteries.
  • Strong technical background in Electrochemistry and Cell/Battery development.

Skills requirements:

  • Hands on experience to fabricate and characterize the ASSB pouch cells in lab scale and pilot scale.
  • Fundamental knowledge in Inorganic/organic or hybrid solutions to protect lithium foils and has the capability to scale-up the concept to production scale.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of All Solid-State Battery (ASSB) technology including interfacial chemistry, charge transfer behaviours, and cell design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cell and battery testing methodologies, interpretation, and presentation of data.
  • Strong understanding about electrochemistry; electrochemical techniques such as CV, LSV, EIS, GITT, PITT etc.
