Seasonal Greetings From The Board

As the end of the year approaches, we like to take the time to reflect on the past year and consider the prospects for the year ahead. We already know that the new year will bring many challenges as we enter our 4^th year of existence. Just as we have done in previous years, we will meet and overcome these challenges with great pleasure in the coming years.

Very soon the ABEE team will move to the headquarters in Ninove, Belgium. Thanks to the millions invested in high-tech equipment, this place will become the home front for ABEE’s own technology.

2022 was an eventful and crucial year for several reasons. Numerous new projects were brought to life and new ideas were built.

ABEE further expanded its branches in Europe through its daughter companies in North Macedonia, Romania, Portugal and Turkey. These new branches will each focus on their own specialization, from developing and producing BMS, to the production of cells and packs and recycling. All will complement each other to complete the full cycle of the battery from the beginning of life to the end of life.

Step by step, ABEE is executing its plans to make the European battery industry independent of foreign players and to localize the supply chain back to its own areas. In that regard, the already announced BE-VOLT Battery System will be operational in Wallonia by 2025 and will be responsible for the production of Battery PAcks with an initial capacity of 3 GWh.

A lot of developments also took place this year in the field of R&D. Six new European Projects with ABEE as a partner were launched and complement the existing repertoire of R&D projects. At the beginning of 2023, this repertoire will certainly be enriched with 6 additional projects.

As the Board of Directors, we would first like to thank our team of researchers, legal advisor, project managers, financial and administrative officers for their hard work. We owe this great success largely to them. The hard work and motivation they have shown has paid off and will be an important aspect of the achievements in the years to come. The warm atmosphere that prevails and the welcoming attitude towards new team members have made ABEE a coveted place to work. They are the heart and soul of ABEE. Numerous new colleagues will join in the coming year and we are very convinced that this reinforcement will only bring about enrichment and success.

In addition, we would like to thank our customers, partners and business contacts for their trust in ABEE. We look forward to further developing and expanding these contacts.
